Chris: Going to Akita this weekend. Don't know what I'll see but I know I'll see something cool.
Chris: Just relaxing at home right now. Waiting for housekeeping to call and come in and clean the place. It's so awkward to be here when they clean, I feel like a slob.
Chris: Gonna slow down the posts a bit. Allison thinks it's getting out of control. I think I agree.
Allison: oops. I guess you didn't get that email they sent us warning us they were bumping Rogers accountholders to Flickr "Regular". Hmmm.. perhaps you should be mad at me for not forwarding. :-(
Chris: I'm super pissed at Rogers and Flikr right now.
Chris: is sticking around the house today working on computer stuff and book stuff. Yup I'm in Japan and I'm wasting a day. I feel guilty.
Chris: I've just added more blogs to see instead of the last 10 blogs you'll now see the last 15. I do this because I've been updating like a mad man and I don't want anybody to miss out.
Chris: Just hanging out today working a few things as well as going to take my new lense our for a test drive.
Chris: Everything seems to be back up and running.
Chris: It appears the folks that run this blog site are having some technical issues so that means I have to slow down the updates for now. I have a bunch to do so when it's up and running again I'll be sure post them up.
Allison: Nope, not true. I readjusted the air conditioning in my office again to make it cooler. I was feeling rather hot and sweaty after the subway ride this morning. It was unbelievably hot in the station. That is all I have to report. Oh, and lunch was yummy.
Chris: She has lots to say, she's just shy.
Allison: I have nothing interesting to blog about. I'm at work. I figured out how to readjust the air conditioning in my office today. Just in time because it's been pretty cold in here and today I'm wearing a sleeveless blouse. Nothing fun like "limp" cars or blue monkeys in here. Sigh.
Chris: Fair enough, but I have to not only devise a plan, but also a truckload of courage.
Allison: oops - squat-and-drop. :-) And report on the experience in the blog.
Allison: HA!! I double-dog dare you to go #2 in one of the squt-and-drops here!!!!
Chris: I got sick of using regular toilets.
Melissa: Whoa! You're living in Japan! May I ask why?
Chris: Hey everybody! To celebrate my being in Japan I've decided to start another 24 hour segment of ask me anything. So ask me any question you want (about Japan or not) and I'll answer it. I may not answer it correctly but I'll answer.
Chris: Going to go check out the locals wish me luck.
Chris: So this is the way the blog will work. I'll be posting stuff here and on the candy critic blog fairly regularly. Sometimes I'll post the same blog on both, other times I won't. If it's food related you'll more than likely find it on the candy critic blog, other stuff will be here. Enjoy it while I'm still able to function and I start to cower in a corner.
Chris: Not stressed anymore, thanks to Allison and some good old fashion neighbourly folks.
Chris: I'm stressed out right now... I'll talk about it more later.
Chris: Caught a mouse last night, it wasn't pretty. I wish I could train mice to live with me and just eat certain things, then we could all get along.
Chris: Stupid birds, kept me up all morning.
Chris: Gonna try something with my hair this weekend.
Chris: Craving deep fried foods lately, does that mean anything?
Chris: Stupid flickr! It would appear that for no reason they're going to shrink my account down in photos. This means little to most except for old post that have flickr photos in them. I may try and fix them, however it'll take a while and it's not really a huge priority to me right at this moment. If you come across a blog missing its pictures let me know and I'll fix it ASAP. And if I can't fix it I'll recreate the blog with new more wacky pictures.
Chris: Is sitting on something, and it's not on my chair.
Chris: I'm thinking about doing a regular segment with questions. Maybe once a month or something.
Chris: In containers probably Ben and Jerry's. In shops it's either from a truck or Baskin Robins.
Melissa: What is your favorite brand of ice cream?
Chris: Hmmmm, For you Melissa, sure, what's your question?
Melissa: What if I want to ask one here?
Chris: I'm answering questions on facebook, if you got one, just ask.
Chris: The dentist went well, and horribly all at the same time. Might need my wisdom teeth out soon.
Chris: Off to the dentist for some serious work. For those that figured being the Candy Critic was all fun and games I invite you to my dentists this afternoon.
Chris: Spring cleaning is in the air. If anybody wants some crap I might be throwing out let me know and I'll send it to you.
Chris: It's hotdog day!!!
Chris: Just a note to let anyone reading this know that tomorrow is Hot Dog Day.
Chris: Strange things are happening today.
Chris: Just had an adrenaline rush trying to sign up for summer school (the server went down minutes before registration was to start). I'm starting to burn down now and that's not good. I still have a busy day ahead of me.
Chris: Still cleaning up after the storm... and years of neglect. We're thinking of painting our shed (not the one that blew over) any colour ideas?
Chris: My tummy hurts, I need some relaxation time.
Jeramon: Chris: congrats from a fellow JOW winner. Like your droll humor, reminds me of your fellow Canadian, Rick Moranis.
Chris: Last exam today. Nervous because it's my major and messing that up is just pathetic. Excited because after this I have a few weeks off to work on photo things as well as candy things.
Chris: Thanks for visiting. Just to let you all know that I'm celebrating earth day today by not touching a single on or off switch all day. I just left all the switches on since last night. Happy Earth Day to all.
THESS: JUST VISITING. CONGRATS FOR THE WINNING JOTW
Chris: Thanks Zima, congrats to you too. The best part about winning JOTW (or Journal of the Week) is that since I’ve won Allison is going to get me an ice cream cake from Baskin Robins to celebrate.
Zima: Congrats for winning the JOTW. I'm one of the two by the way. Visting you here to congratulate s you!
Chris: eek

Reach For It

  • How pissed am I: I'm ok
  • People I hate today: people that eat things wrong
  • Are kittens cute? not today
  • What do I want to eat? things, but right

I love the way it looks like the flower is grabbing at something.  I’m not sure what it’s grabbing at, maybe at a passing bee, or if I was to think a little more romantically I could say that it’s reaching for another flower mate.  Nature is just so cool sometimes.

  • People I hate today: people that don't make up their minds

I don’t know if this is as much a sign as it is a bunch of cool stickers and graffiti, either way it’s cool.

Random

  • How pissed am I: Really Pissed
  • People I hate today: Playskool
  • Are kittens cute? not even with a potato head
  • What do I want to eat? fries

Photobucket

As I wonder the streets of Tokyo, random thoughts go through my head, ideas I ponder, ideas I may one day actually put into action.

Photobucket

Sometimes these ideas are important and could change the world, sometimes…

Photobucket

I wonder why you almost never see accessories for Mr Potato Head. Sure you can but a whole Mr Potato Head in many themes, but you can’t ever just get the parts. I already have a Darth Tatter Mr Potato Head, but I also want my Mr Potato Head to be able to dress up as Spider Man or Optimus Prime without having to buy a whole other Mr Potato Head.

Is it a fork or is it a hand?  The mystery will haunt you forever.

Shrines and a Big Buddha

  • How pissed am I: I'm zen... for now
  • People I hate today: people that get mad
  • Are kittens cute? not even to Buddha
  • What do I want to eat? potatoes

Photobucket

Today we went to Kamakura to check out some of the cool shrines they have all over the place.

Photobucket

All of the shrines have at least one big or cool attraction to see, like this wall of hydrangeas.

Photobucket

Most famous in Kamakura is the giant Buddha.

Photobucket

You can go inside and check out what makes a giant Buddha tick. But most importantly I discovered something about all of the shrines I’ve been to so far.

Photobucket

At the shrine with the giant Buddha they too had a giant pair of shoes, and I realised that they would fit perfectly on the giant Buddha. Then I figured that maybe the other shrines with giant shoes had them out just in case the giant Buddha came to visit.

Nice Garden

  • How pissed am I: I'm good now
  • People I hate today: people that don't have any kind of zen
  • Are kittens cute? not even with zen
  • What do I want to eat? cheese

Photobucket

Today Allison and I went on an adventure to a really nice Japanese Garden. (I guess any garden we visit here is Japanese though)

Photobucket

They had nice plants and really cool bridges.

Photobucket

Allison fed a turtle…

Photobucket

And some fish too.

Photobucket

I named this fish Jim, he’s saying hello to everybody.

Shrine Tours

  • How pissed am I: I'm much more zen now
  • People I hate today: just that guy
  • Are kittens cute? not today
  • What do I want to eat? cookies

Photobucket

This morning Allison and I went to tour a bunch of Shrines in Fukagawa.

Photobucket

We saw all kinds of cool things.

Photobucket

Like a bag cleansing ceremony to help… well I guess cleanse your bag. I don’t know why your bag would need religious cleansing but who am I to judge.

Photobucket

A saw another giant shoe, it’s now more of a mystery than a thrill.

Photobucket

A whole day of shrines and not one fez or little car.

Photobucket

I don’t know what I like more, the example of shined shoes or the handle to hang onto for this wild shoeshine ride.

11:55 AM

Everyday it gets stranger and stranger.

  • How pissed am I: confused and that pisses me off
  • People I hate today: people that don't like bread
  • Are kittens cute? not even real ones
  • What do I want to eat? bread

Photobucket

I saw this claw game the other day that appeared to give out loaves of bread. Yup you read that right, loaves of bread. But it gets better.

Photobucket

First of all the sign was enough to make me squeal with delight. It makes me want to hug a giant loaf of bread as well.

Photobucket

Finally and strangest of all is the bread is not real. The bread you win is a full size loaf of fake bread that you can squeeze. So the label on the side is a bit of a lie, it is in fact not “A loaf of bread” it is instead a “loaf of lies”.
